Camp Kennedy Black Camp Felt

Segregated Scout Camp Asheville North Carolina Daniel Boone Council

It’s from Camp Carl Kennedy, a camp for African-American scouts which was used by Daniel Boone Council in the 40s and 50s. It was held on the French Broad River south of Asheville, North Carolina. The existence of this camp has been confirmed by 2 different professionals who served as the professional director of the camp. This patch actually dates from the 40s. Compare it to the Camp Daniel Boone patches from the same era which had the same design with “DB” on the felt.

This is the only known example of this patch.

POST SCRIPT: IF ANYONE HAS THE IMAGE OF THIS PATCH PLEASE REACH OUT SO I CAN ADD IT TO THE POST
