Scouting Hot Finds Radio #72: Boy Scout Council Hits The Trade-O-Ree Circuit and eBay!

SCOUTING HOT FINDS RADIO EPISODE #72

What happens when a Boy Scout council crosses over into the secondary market to sell memorabilia? Listen to this interview with Marylou Schwarzer of the Blue Ridge Mountains Council in VA to find out. She is the trading post manager for the BRMC and has been selling on eBay for a while not as herself but with an official non-profit account she set up. In fact selling as the Boy Scout council there are no final value fees.

One of the other cool pieces of setting up your council as a non-profit on eBay is that sellers could select to donate a percentage of their items net sale to your charity. Could you imagine someone donating some stuff to the council (probably happens all the time) and they sell it on eBay for free? Sounds like some Boy Scout councils need to look into this!
