Tuesday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter December 23, 2014

I want to take this opportunity to wish all the readers a happy holidays. Here at my house we will be celebrating Christmas with a church service tomorrow along with an overnight visit from my in-laws. It seems that when you have the grandchildren you control where holidays get celebrated. 🙂

I have been working on a checklist of Senior Scouting collectibles based off of James Clough’s book from the 1990s. When it’s finished I’ll share it on a website and folks who are interested can use it to organize their collections as I have recently.

I have been a little behind the curve not going hot after the new 100th anniversary issues. I know some traders/dealers that have that as an obvious goal.

I have mentioned it several times already but if you are within driving distance please consider coming to the first TOR of the new year! The Pee Dee Area Council Scout Memorabilia Show will be held January 3rd in Florence, SC from 9 AM – 4 PM.

This week I’ve been sorting neckerchiefs trying to decide placement for about 500 different ones that need to go up for sale. Some are headed for my antique mall booth while some are going to hit Facebook. I’m trying to use the strategy shared by Nick Wolf and others.

I reported last week that I was scoping out a new antique mall booth location. So today I’m happy to report that like Todd Kelly I’ll be opening up a 2nd booth location in January. I signed the paperwork and have started getting ready. You know I’m a little nutty about filming everything so I’ll probably shoot a video to announce my new location soon.
