I am pretty sure I saw the neat Explorer Silver Award neckerchief advertised on Facebook before it went to auction. This one is similar to the Eagle Scout neckerchiefs of that time period which were probably done by the same company. I’m pretty sure it’s not a legit issue in the sense of the advancement system but more of a court of honor kinda souvenir item.
If you don’t have a Philmont collection and would like to make a big home run purchase look no further than that listing below. The staff segment is one of the hardest pieces to get. The mountain man (rifle) segment is also tough.

I started collecting Boy Scout memorabilia when I was inducted into Santee Lodge 116, Order of the Arrow at Camp Coker in the summer of 1986. All the guys of ISWA chapter in Elk campsite seemed to be trading and since my dad sent me to camp with a small bag of patches, I jumped in and never looked back....
