Last night at Girl Scouts I talked to the other troop leaders about the trip to the Summit this summer for a mini camp. Two of the other female leaders are all about it so it looks like we are a go. The information said that we need to expect to walk 7 miles per day on average. Looks like my Fitbit is going to love this trip.

Another fun thing from last night’s meeting was a chance to bring a bag full of proficiency badges (MBs) and letting the girls sort them out. We are working on a badge called Girl Scout Way and it worked into our requirements. The part you would think is amazing is the girls were begging to earn the different badges some of which were 50+ years old. That goes to show you the flaws in the current Girl Scout advancement system.

Yes sometimes in the Boy Scout category you can even find weird things like cook books. The Philturn patch is one of the auctions I’m watching in this edition.

My packing project this weekend was to tackle my collection of BSA memorabilia reference guides and see what I had in dupe and what was going to CLT. I turned up more than two dozen duplicates including some real classics that I want to circulate back into the hobby. I’ve posted all of them for sale in this album with free shipping.

I know there is continued interest in OA Centennial patches including some of the ones in this block. I think the next big thing will be Jamboree even though it’s well over a year away. Since kids are signing up you can expect to see the fundraising sets out very soon I anticipate.
