Sunday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter February 14, 2016

If not for all the craziness going on right now I would have really loved to attend a Sea Badge course that was held in eastern North Carolina last weekend.  Then to hear this week that Sea Scouts is no longer going to stand under the Venturing umbrella but once again be independent.  Looks like after 100 years the skippers and commodores are making a push to turn the tide. (pun intended)

I used the Facebook Group this week to score a coveted new first flap. When the news broke that Tulpe’s FF had been issued last weekend I fretted like others about what it was going to take to get one. Then someone posted a link to an eBay listing where they were being sold for $10 each. Thanks to the SPC Facebook Group one of those is in the mail and going in my OA collection.

Recently I heard from a collector who was asking about my podcast and wondering when was it going to come back on the air. Somebody cares! Well like many other “projects” that one is in hibernation right now but I do hope that this summer I can thaw out a few of them and get back to it. If I was smart I would be recording interviews now and stockpiling some content.

This coming week I expect to get another nice collection in. This one is pretty big with over 400 OA flaps, 100 2piece sets, and over 1,000 shoulder strips. That’s a bit much to do one big unboxing video for but I’ll try and think of something. Like most of my recent buys look for this one to land on my FB store at www.ScoutPatchHQ.com.
