In going through this giant sort in my warehouse and every day I’m finding stuff that I forgot I had or haven’t laid eyes on in a while. My wife hopes her diamond earrings are somewhere to be found in all this mess but I have my doubts.
This morning I’m going to ride to Cornelius, NC to see if I can save some money on shipping supplies. You might already know that some people buy pallet loads of returns from big box sellers. The people I am going to visit have done that for Staples and are offering envelopes, poly bags and labels at super discounted prices. I usually buy these things from Amazon but I’ll see if I can stock up today.
Below you can find a link to the interview I recorded with John Ortt who is hosting the Norfolk TOR this weekend. In fact there are multiple TORs this weekend around the country. I’m happy to record a similar interview with any TOR organizer. Call or text me at 910-671-4919 (leave a message) and we can knock it out in 5 minutes!
Eventually I have to make a decision. Does everything that I’m willing to sell for $1 go in the giant dollar tub or do I keep things organized (for example rank patches that I would let go for $1). I asked a similar question on Facebook about National Jamborees and was told to organize those by years instead of like items (bolos, hiking medallions etc.) This is all part of deciding what is the method to the madness in sorting everything once and for all.
As I mentioned there are numerous TORs on the calendarthis weekend and I hope you can make one of them. My next show is going to be Charlotte but that is partially because I have so many Scouting obligations coming up I barely have a weekend free.
Jason, I have a number of Boy Scout items – old handbooks, patches, a number of Philmont related items (I was on staff for three years). I really have no use form these things. I would really like to get them to someone who cares about these kind of things. Please let me know if you have any ideas or direction I should go with this adventure. I presently live in the Portland, Oregon area.
Thank you for your time.
