Tuesday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter January 09, 2018
When I got involved with Best Hobby Pages last year there was one thing that really sold me on the product – the Super Fans. In eCommerce talk these are the unsolicited referrals and loyal customers who are willing to authentically promote your product or service to others. For Best Hobby Pages I captured some of these comments and built them into a new blog post on the store.
Monday I sent a targeted email blast out to nearly 600 collectors in the Southeast letting them know that we are exactly 3 months out from the Charlotte Trade-O-Ree. The good thing about being an eBay powerseller is I’ve got one of the best customer lists in the hobby. Everything is falling into place for this to be a great show.
Speaking of the Charlotte TOR I am on the agenda for the Apache District (S. Charlotte) Roundtable Thursday night. I am going to visit each of the council’s district roundtables over the next 3 months to get out in person and promote the show. We had a good local turnout last year and I’m committed to putting in the work to make that happen again.
Speaking of TORs I am leaving after the round table to get over to Easley, SC for Chris Jensen’s SC TOR this weekend. Chris has been promoting the silent auctions that will be part of this weekend’s show as one reason it’s not to be missed.

I started collecting Boy Scout memorabilia when I was inducted into Santee Lodge 116, Order of the Arrow at Camp Coker in the summer of 1986. All the guys of ISWA chapter in Elk campsite seemed to be trading and since my dad sent me to camp with a small bag of patches, I jumped in and never looked back....
