Unusual Scouting Collectibles Lighting It Up
I figure a lot of collectors are “patch guys” and yawn when they glaze over the auctions that feature the more unusual items offered up on eBay. Would you believe that the lot of shoe coins was the absolute #1 item that sold last week on eBay in the Boy Scout category. In face the Baden Powell stamp was in the Top-10 and the knife was not far behind. Maybe us patch guys need to pay more attention to these really rare pieces. The final two items on this list only got one bid but that high minimum bid secured it a place in this blog post.

I started collecting Boy Scout memorabilia when I was inducted into Santee Lodge 116, Order of the Arrow at Camp Coker in the summer of 1986. All the guys of ISWA chapter in Elk campsite seemed to be trading and since my dad sent me to camp with a small bag of patches, I jumped in and never looked back....
