3-Month Trends and Interesting Finds

To start off with here is a tale of a happy seller. An antique dealer in Maryland put a uniform lot on eBay with a starting bid of $29.99. The uniform included some really nice items from the 1920s and was the top selling item from the last three months in this category.

Boy Scout Uniform + Misc. Memorabilia, 1920’s

Overall this category is very active with just under $100,000 worth of items sold. The average price of auction/fixed priced listings was $17.67 at a success rate of 59%. On the store side the average sale price was $11.50 with 727 items sold. On any given week you would find approximately 500 items in this category.

One thing that makes this category an interesting one to watch is that badges and patches (the most treasured Scouting items) are meant to be sewn on uniforms. Often times a really nice patch will end up on a uniform in this category.

One of the items that really surprised me was a Canadian Scout shirt that sold for over $200.

The BigJim Award goes to a seller who ran this item two different weeks and didn’t get any bids at the asking price of $499.

By the way when the item didn’t get any bids the seller put it in his store for $550.
