Sunday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter December 4, 2016

Thursday I’m putting up a display at my district banquet with Scouting memorabilia to help promote the Charlotte TOR. The question now is what to put up? I’ve got a pretty good local lodge collection but outside of OA what appeals to your typical Scouter? Would this be a good year to mount a Jamboree display with paper and patches going back to 1935?

I’ve been watching the auction for the Red sash below and the results so far are pretty impressive. Maybe because it’s for a good cause or maybe because it’s just that rare this one is worth a look.

The red neckerchief from the 1975 WJ is approaching $1k in bidding. I have no idea if its a small subcamp or something even more unique than that. Guys who went to this event would be in their late 50s early 60s so they probably have some money to spend.

Over on eBay I’ve got 87 live auctions and they are all old camp and council neckerchiefs. All the starting bids are less than $9 which seems like a good price point to reunite these pieces to a Scout who would appreciate them.
