Sunday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter March 20, 2016

There was some actual patch trading going down in the dining hall at Camp Coker Saturday night. It was an official event on the schedule and we probably had 15-20 people hanging around taking part. Phil Bethune had his collection on display and we had Wes Drennan visiting to get in on the action. I helped a few people fill holes and got a camp staff patch for my own collection. There was even a discussion about the possibility of forming a history committee that could do some displays and who knows maybe someday a place at camp for a museum. Good times!

I am sure I need that Star rank patch but instead of bidding I have it bookmarked to see what it goes for. There are a lot of nice old pieces ending this weekend and I’ve got some of them linked in here.

OA neckerchiefs are a really neat niche collection. For every lodge I collect you can find pies and embroidered neckerchiefs part of that display.

There are some very cool patches in this block. The Philmont patch pictured below is a classic and you can’t do better in my book than felt camp patches.

This weekend I’ve been running my biggest ever sale in my OA category on Patchblanket.com. The more than 2,000 listings in there are marked down 30% off through today. You can save big on flaps and issues from lodges all over the country.
