Sunday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter May 31, 2020

Well I pulled the plug for good on my experiment to use the CommentSold platform to sell on Facebook using videos. The service was kinda expensive and the videos took a lot of prep time to prepare. But the good news is I’ll be returning to fun unboxing videos which seem to be the fan favorite.

This weekend my mother-in-law came to town and Saturday we drove out to show her the warehouse operation. She was both impressed and mortified at all the Scout stuff. My wife joked that I could just move in there.

Every year our category seems to slow down during the summer as troops go off to camp and people go on vacation. So this year with all of that blown up I just don’t know what June/July/August will look like. I will be just keeping business as usual since my summer plans got squashed by the virus.

I am keeping up the strategy of listing new stuff every day. On patchsniper I have 80 auctions running on OA 2-piece sets. On OApatch I have 192 auctions on flaps. I have 251 auctions on $5dollarpatchstore including CSPs, camps and more.

Coming up this week I hope to film an unboxing video on a collection out of Indiana that included some 1980s patches from my boyhood council and OA lodge. It’s always fun to get into these small collections and look for the jewels.
