#1 Camp Patch on eBay

I try to keep tabs on what is selling in camp memorabilia. This was the most expensive camp patch to sell on eBay the last week.

Very nice for being 64 years old! A war-time issue too, although I guess technically the war was over by the time camp started. One old-timer used to call these kinds of crispy mint patches “boards” because you could hold them by your fingertips on the edge of the border and they would be straight as boards. Ha ha!

Here are some possible explanations . . . :p

  1. They made 10,000 of them in 1945.
  2. Nobody collects Bert Adams.
  3. Bert Adams collectors don’t have deep pockets.
  4. Some rich, Hollywood media mogul is trying to obtain the camp patches from Visalia where he grew up.
  5. Mirimichi Lodge and camp have the same name so are easily found in an eBay search.

That’s high. The last one I sold went for about $100. I still have at least one dupe of that somewhere.
