I looked back through some of the golden oldie posts on the forum and noticed that one unique report that I did a few times was checking in on some of the top sellers in the category. While most of you will not recognize eBay seller lemjmm, he made a splash recently by cranking out some great mixed lots and sold a Hornaday medal for over $1,000. Its always fun to see what the bidding wars did for the final price on mixed lots. Here are his totals for the month of May.
Total Sales: $5220
Average Price: $62.15
Sell through rate: 100%

The one on the right is the Antarctic Service Award knot. This may or may not have been authorized by the BSA, but has never been included in an official publication. The border makes this look like one of the original Antarctic knots (from the 1960s?) rather than one of the recent repros of those knots.
The one on the left, I’m not sure about–except that it’s definitely not an authentic/official issue. I’ve seen a similar color scheme (maybe a slightly darker blue?) listed as a locally authorized, privately produced knot for BSA Lifeguard.
George Crowl documents knots and varieties in exacting detail; his articles are available on his web page at:

$1680 for the silver Hornaday medal and knot is just obscene!
