Sunday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter June 12, 2016

As we were leaving Saturday morning I went to the Trading Post and got each of the patches for sale. Later today I’m going to try and build a post on ScoutPatchCollectors.com to show what is up there. I plan to work with Danny Ryan who has already served 2 years up there on staff to document all the issues. They have some cool events coming up this summer so I’ll be on the lookout for that as well.

The Scott Visitor Center is that building at the 2013 Jambo that was unfinished and folks used the back porch as patch trading central. Today it is up and running and includes a really nice memorabilia display organized by Russell Smart. I have included a picture here but I’m going to post up all the pictures I took of the display including one of a kid that was a doppelganger of me when I was in the 6th grade. Many of the Girl Scouts were checking out this display and were impressed.

A few people have been after me to get them a patch from the Girl Scout event. As often happens with events in Scouting the patches aren’t ready yet! Sorry I’ll keep trying to work my contacts when they are issued. We did however receive a Summit participation patch.

Next week my kids are in a church camp and aside from doing some packing I hope to spend many hours working on my store offerings. I’ve got a bunch of OA and camp patches that will hopefully make it up there over the next five days.
