Sunday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter June 4, 2017

Now that the National OA Committee lifted the ban on the O-B-V sets my lodge is joining many in bringing that series back. Saturday afternoon the lodge approved a by-laws change to start up a restricted set that will probably be issued at the Fall Fellowship. I had a hand in designing the set so I’m pretty stocked about it.

There was quite a lot of discussion around the dining hall regarding the idea being kicked around for girls to join Cub Scouts. One of the guys at my table had a daughter who was the first Sea Scout to earn the Quartermaster Award in my council in probably 50 years. So we had some diverse opinions in the room.

I think it finally sunk in today that my lodge has a lot of activities during the year. I say that because what used to be a 1-day work day is now a full fellowship style weekend. Add that to the 3 other fellowships, Dixie Fellowship and a week of specialized summer camp for OA brothers and that’s a lot of chances to wear your sash at camp.

My big run of eBay auctions is slowing down as I look at the calendar and realize any auctions I start next week will end while me and kids are at Disney World! So the next week will be spent getting fixed priced items listed in the store and trying to bring some other projects to fruition.
