The nice Eagle Scout group below is ending shortly so be sure to click on it before you do anything else. If the North Carolina council patch below included the tresured “OA” segment I think you could see a wild bidding war.

This weekend my OA lodge began a new program that I know many lodges have. We now have an Elangomat flap that can be earned after serving at two events in this capacity. It looks like the first ones will be awarded in mid-July as I assume a few of the guys who served this weekend will do the same at our OA week and Summer Fellowship.

If you don’t have a copy of Scouting Memories pictured below you ought to pick it up. J. Rucker Newbery was the editor of the first OA handbook. He was also a professioal Scout in old Region 6 and his Bob White 87 ceremonial teams conducted the first Ordeals for many lodges in the Carolinas including mine. Newbery was also the person who coined the name “Dixie Fellowship” in 1952 for the fellowship meeting he hosted in Charleston that year.

Every time I run a sale on 2015 NOAC items I generate a lot of interest. It seems like the 100th anniversary stuff still has legs and at the right price people are looking to buy. My sale running through the weekend is 25% off on 175 listings.
