Friday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter July 8, 2016

Check out the auctions that I turned up for this lead off block in today’s newsletter. I never miss a chance to put a 1947 WJ patch in the newsletter considering I’ll never forget the day that one sold on eBay for $72k which was definitely the all time record for any piece of Scouting memorabilia.

Can I be one of those guys that picks up a Prism patch a year from now when the price comes way back down? I do have a notebook of National OA events so eventually I’ll need to snag one.

I’ve heard from a few people that are setting up websites. One of the questions I usually get is who do I use? I’m not sure if it’s the best but I’ve never had a problem with GoDaddy. You can usually get a good deal one the first year so they can charge you about $15-$19 for every year to renew your domain name. If anybody has a specialty site they are setting up let me know!

Well the .99 cent auction experiment was not a blazing success. My sell through rate was about 15% on nearly 800 auctions. I had hoped to clear out more inventory but the good things is eBay keeps giving away free auction listings so I can give those patches another run and see what happens.
