Retired Strip

I was surfing the Scout Stuff website and ran across this Retired strip. It looks like a spoof except it’s legit.

Does this mean you can now wear your highest position patch with a Retired strip under it when you’re no longer in the job?

It is described in the Insignia Guide under “Employed Personnel Badges of Office”

http://www.scouting.org/scoutsource/Media/InsigniaGuide/10C.aspx

That is–it is only for wear by retired professionals, and is not for volunteers who have stepped aside from a particular position.
