Sunday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter July 26, 2015

As I suspected there was not an unlimited buy what you want Centennial flap. Santee 116 has sorta settled on order sizes of 300 patches as being just about right considering many of our events draw less than 100 people. Obviously with that order size the leadership then has to put a cap on how many each person can get to make sure they get distributed fairly.

I was a little surprised that the NOAC sets were similarly limited. Obviously I am in favor of giving the boys something to trade at NOAC with a reasonable priced and plentiful set. However, again the order was for 300 of the “trader” set which likely means they will be a little hard to find. However, the lodge contingent has 22 people so there may be some floating around in MI.

This was probably the single most prolific weekend in lodge history for the store. Adding to the already mentioned issues were two activity patches and a pair of new jacket patches. One of these is the 100th anniversary issue which measures 15″ across. It is a monster! The same design was used for the OA Centennial flap and the 5-patch activity set for the 2015 anniversary year.

Last night I got everything mentioned in this newsletter photographed and a blog post on CarolinaOA.com written up to share the news. You can check it out with longer explanations, Blue Book id#s and pictures at Santee 116 Centennial Issues Are Out!.
