Sunday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter July 28, 2019

If you go over on my Facebook profile I filmed an unboxing video for a collection that came in last week. This one is from the west coast. I’ve been working on it for about 6 months and it is almost completely OA which is my favorite collecting area to resale.

It’s about 3.5 hours from Charlotte to the Visitors Center so my wife has decided that I’ll leave tomorrow morning instead of going up tonight to stay with my cousin who lives relatively nearby. Either way I want to see the big event and trade a patch or two although WSJ is not one of my collections I focus on.

I have been peeking at eBay and keeping tabs on the WSJ stuff. It is really nothing compared to what I typically see for a National Jamboree. I would have thought with this many Americans and visitors that there would have been a bunch of stuff up but it’s really just warming up I guess.

In my original plans I was hoping to trade standard BSA neckerchiefs but the reports I’m getting back suggest those are not very popular. Modern neckerchiefs with piping and especially colorful ones are what is popular. Without any contingent stuff to trade I’ll also be a little handicapped but it will be fun to do some good old 1:1.
