Great Find And Rear….

This is a 100% original Boy Scouts of America award or service medal from 1914. This is a good quality bronze medal, about 2 3/4″ top to bottom with pinback top bar “To —— For Service Rendered” and original RW&B ribbon (showing minor fraying). The bronze medal bears on the obverse a bust of “Francis Scott Key” and the dates “1814-1914” with an American flag. The reverse legend is “Given in recognition of splendid services rendered by you as a member of the boy scouts during the National Star-spangled Banner Centennial Baltimore, MD., Sept. 6-13, 1914.” Hallmarked by the Whitehead & Hoag Co. of Newark, N.J.
