Flea Market Surprises! Looking for These?

I’m always amazed when I’m looking at eBay and see some really bizarre “scout stuff” sell for good money. Many of these items are ones that if I saw at a TOR or a flea market I’m not sure I’d be the one to take them home. However, looking at eBay can often serve as an educational tool for collectors so here goes. Here are some of the more “miscellaneous” Boy Scout things that sold on eBay recently for good $$!

Rare Old Boy Scout Pins 1940 50 60 Lone Scout? BSA

Vintage 1915 R.Tait Mckenzie Scout 17in. Chalk

2 Boy Scout Scouts 1935 National Jamboree Patches

Original 1950’s Boy Scout OA Tent Teepee

Very Rare 1917 Pocket Bible Official BSA

Jason, I’m SURE you would have picked up that box of pins if you had seen it at a flea market, if for nothing else, then the Lone Scout pins. The big item there that I recognize is the Pi Gamma Tau turtle pin that is for the pre-OA honor society Pathfinders of the Golden Trail. That alone is probably worth the whole amount of the winning bid. The Iota Sigma Tau on an arrowhead may also be a pre-OA society, but I don’t know what it is. I can’t read the “S” in the blue diamond pin, but that looks interesting too. Plus the Caldwell arrow pin and others.

Ok you got me! I loved this picture when I came across it so I had to stick it in the post (no pun intended). Yes those were awesome and even if I didn’t know what you know I know enough to take those home.
