Friday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter August 4, 2017

One of the fun things I was trading at the Jamboree was old garrison style hats. I even had one of the red berets on my blanket. The Scouts who traded me for those were so excited it was almost funny. The Scout that got the red beret was about to give me a hug and said I made his day. You would have been surprised to see how many Jamboree Scouts were wearing these classic pieces.

Every year after a big event like Jamboree or NOAC I single out a few patches that I’m going to keep in my personal collection. I am a big nerd fan of the movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The Denver Area Council made such a wonderful set of patches on that theme that it’s my hands down winner. The other set I’m keeping is the Sesame Street set. When my daughter saw the image of the Grouch floating in a trash can across the Delaware she cracked a big smile.

So far neckerchiefs have been among the biggest sellers in my online sales. I sold all 4 of the International neckerchiefs that I brought home and the Peurto Rico contingent necker did very well at auction. I am wondering with the 2019 WJ coming if neckerchiefs will make a comeback.

Last night or should I say early this morning when I listed my next wave of Jamboree auctions I was hoping to move the needle over 1000 live Jamboree auctions. I missed the mark (960 live auctions) but tonight when I launch the rest I will smash through that ceiling.
