Friday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter July 28, 2017

It’s nice to see so many old and vintage items in the Hot Finds considering that all I’ve seen for the last 7 days are patches hot off the press. There was a neat appreciation for some of the vintage stuff among the collectors out on the trail. I traded some old Jambo stuff and had people looking for stuff that I didn’t even think to bring.

One of the highlights of my day was when somebody recognized me from the newsletter or the YouTube. I was able to grab a selfie just for fun with some of the adults that really seemed to appreciate the almost ten years that I’ve bee plugging away at this effort. With so many new collectors jazzed with patch trading now is the time to keep putting out some content for these young thread heads.

I am headed back to Charlotte today after having traded with hundreds and hundreds of Scouts and Scouters 1:1 from my blanket. Somehow with all those handshakes I didn’t bring home a cold from the Jambo. I did bring home lots of memories and am very thankful for my family that let me be gone for 10 days.

The strategy here is pretty simple – trade for 2017 stuff and auction it off on eBay. I’ve got 247 auctions up right now with more ready to launch tonight. It will be at least a week before I can sort, scan and list everything but the sprint has begun.
