Sunday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter August 13, 2017

It’s hard to believe that in less than two weeks I’ll be spending the weekend at a TOR. The Occoneechee TOR is held at Camp Durant near Carthage, NC. One of the cool things is the lodge cook team does all the meal prep and eating feels like being we are at a fellowship. Literally everything stops for about 1/2 hour and we all sit down and eat and chat at the dining tables. This show is becoming very popular in the southeast and kicks off the TOR fall season for many of us.

I have lined up a podcast interview with some of the volunteers that are working on the replacement for Blue Book – the OA catalog. As we head toward a NOAC summer perhaps things will start clicking with the project and collectors will see something moving the needle.

Speaking of NOAC there is a new group that has been formed on Facebook to track the issues and showcase all the new memorabilia being issued. Todd Rogers is doing this project and new people are joining every day.

August is almost 1/2 way over but I still have 864 live auctions on items from the 2017 Jamboree including many sets and hard to find pieces. I was able to come home with a lot of inventory and it’s all up for bids.
