Sunday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter August 7, 2016

Don’t you love it when the only memorabilia issue for an event was a plastic neckerchief slide!? The 1955 6A issue pictured below is kinda legendary because there was no patch issued that year. If OA is not your thing I’m sure something else in this lead off block will tempt you to click over to eBay.

As soon as church is over this morning I am due to make a phone call to the west coast about a small collection. My wife is not real keen on my habit of adding to the pile of Scout stuff in our house so I might have to sneak out back and walk down the creek to have this conversation.

I watched my first Facebook Live video this weekend and it was being filmed at the Summit. Some of the organizers of the 2019 World Jamboree were there at a meeting and they did a sort of Q&A video that was beamed out across the world. Their excitement about the whole experience can be described as “giddy”. They are looking for 10,000 Scouters to serve on the International Service Team. This could be you (or me!) in 2019.

I have been experimenting with different promotions, coupons and other ways to entice people to visit my store at www.Patchblanket.com. The latest thing I am trying is a promotion for a pretty popular category in my store. Over in my 2015 NOAC category if you purchase $75 worth of items you will instantly get $10 back. It’s all handled through eBay.
