Sunday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter May 6, 2018

The weather was beautiful for our camping trip. It was overcast with the temps getting up close to 80. The threat of rain never materialized until about 3 AM this morning and even then it was just enough to knock the dust off everything. Our den played kickball, went on a hike, shot slingshots and caught some fish. We also won 1st place for our skit at the campfire and 2nd place for the dessert competition.

For our end of the year pack meeting in a few weeks I have a special gift for each Scout. Recently i got a collection that included over a dozen hand made neckerchief slides made from Indian arrowheads that a Scout dug up in the 1950s. The history buff in me thinks these are so cool as they are authentically hundreds of years old and I don’t think boys of this day and age are finding arrowheads like the old timers did.

With luck Monday will be the last day of shipping orders out of the basement. I should be able to get all the inventory moved over Tuesday and have the warehouse up and running mid-week if all goes as expected (which is rarely does!).

Tomorrow night I have some 10 cent auctions ending on eBay. Lately I’ve had one customer that will put in the minimum bid on these and usually ends up winning over a 100 patches each round. Sounds like a winner!
