Friday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter September 9, 2016

Today’s issue of the newsletter is loaded with plenty of good pickings for any window shopper or serious collector. You can find old books, patches and BSA gear just a click away as everything is a hot link that will take you to eBay.

Ok I am a little bias but that generic looking Chicora Chapter patch listed below is really a legendary tough issue from my lodge. It was issued in the late 1970s so when I got into the OA in 1986 it was one of those toughies that might take you several years to land. If I wasn’t sitting on a dump truck load full of 116 dupes I might bid high just to get a dupe.

I pretty much have the patch cave sorted out and it looks like I have enough inventory to stock another antique mall booth. If I was smart I’d do my homework in the Charlotte area and find a good one. There are a million people in Mecklenburg County and maybe three times that in the metropolitan footprint. I view this antique mall strategy as a way to get bulky stuff (books, uniforms, 3D objects) out of the house. As long as it breaks even every month I’m happy and some months I might even get a nice check.

I’m back into the swing of listing live auctions on eBay. With one new consignor my goal is to average 20-25 new listings per day.
