Sunday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter September 1, 2019

After the game and supper I got to take my buddy to the warehouse as he has been really keen on seeing the operation. He was kinda like “where did you have all this stuff before”? Once you get all your Scout stuff in one space after years of buying it’s a sight to see. But he did score some cool patches and had some good ideas for me on retail.

While there we did an unboxing on a flat rate box that I got in the mail Saturday. It was not an amazing pick up but I got to use my system where I now have plastic containers for everything. So for example the 4 Neal slides had a place to go. As did the rank patches, neckerchiefs etc. I’ve got containers for just about everything now so I can keep from having unsorted boxes on the shelf.

A month after the WSJ ended and the listings on eBay still have to seem legs. In the end I’ll be curious to see how many USA collectors but together a 2019 collection and what those look like. It seems like we are lined up well with national events over the next several summers which always provide a boost to the hobby.

My last run of World Jamboree auctions ends tonight on eBay. After this I’m rolling the items into my store and putting it all to bed. Now that September is here I really want to focus on rolling out new auction listings every week and taking advantage of what some call TOR season before the holidays.

Me and about a zillion other people are going to spend today at Carowinds which is our local amusement park. My friend and his daughter are going along with my kids. I always enjoy it but the crowds and over priced food will be not so fun. But you gotta close out the summer with a bang and this just might be it.
