Sunday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter September 24, 2017

I guess there should be a word for this in the hobby. Its sorta like recycling. Since so many people hold onto this Scout stuff in the end you have a lot of people that want to pass it on rather than trash it. This is the churn that happens in the hobby that allows some of you to find cool stuff in antique malls, flea markets and craigs list. Many people that I talk to just want to find someone who will appreciate this stuff as much as their loved one did.

I want to give everyone an update on my podcast for the hobby Scouting Hot Finds Radio. I have two interviews already recorded that I will try and publish very soon. After that I’ve just about decided that I’m going to try again for the concept of a live bi-weekly show. This way I can book the guests and it gets the audio on the air and published.

Another fun project that I’m hoping to bring back is my video blog show Thread Heads. Brad England and I recorded 11 episodes before we faded out. Now that the technology has improved I’m hoping to bring it back and have a more polished show.

One of my goals for the fall is ramping up my auctions so I take full advantage of the 1000 “free” ones that eBay builds into my store subscription. Right now I’m finishing off a run of Jamboree Shoulder Strips from a consignor and will try and launch several hundred more auctions tonight.
