Tuesday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter September 12, 2017

I’ve got another collection I’m looking at now that has a bunch of stuff. One of these days I want to run up on one for sale in an estate that has all of my core needs. What are the chances I find one that has tough merit badge and insignia pieces? So far I haven’t lucked into one of those but I guess I’ll keep on plugging away and one day a bunch of my needs might fall into my lap.

My next project is to start organizing my TOR stock. It’s a different kind of animal having the inventory you are going to set out at a TOR versus that which is organized for selling on eBay. I’ve got to have price labels with everything in order if I hope to make some sales starting in Atlanta at the end of the month.

One of the strategies I’ve used in the recent past is having big totes full of dollar patches. This “tub strategy” works well for several dealers that don’t want to take the time to sort and list low end patches. I’ve seen that for myself since my $1 box is very popular at my antique mall in Charlotte.

The focus has been JSPs this week for me on eBay as I work through a collection that I’ve had on consignment since before the summer. Now that jamboree is over I’m trying to get caught up taking care of the handful of consignors that I have agreed to work with.
