Tuesday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter September 19, 2017

If one meeting wasn’t enough last night I also ran over to my daughter’s Girl Scout meeting. I’ve offered to organize a primitive camping trip for her troop (now 24 girls total in grades 5-8). The Girl Scouts have tweaked their advancement program to offer what they are calling an outdoor journey. None of the girls ears perked up when I mentioned that but when I asked them how many were will to go camping in the chilly fall like November or December all their hands shot up.

My lodge is one of those returning to an OBV set and this morning the lodge adviser posted this picture of the new flaps that have come in. I helped design this set which stays true to the traditional look of our flaps through the years. This one is going to be 2/year starting at our Fall Fellowship. We are going to still keep our standard issue flap that is 1 per event so it’s kinda new territory for us on that front.

I got upgraded for the Atlanta TOR so that I now have some nice 8′ wall tables to host Best Hobby Pages. If anybody has tables for the Columbus Ohio show that they want to part with let me know. I was slow to pull the trigger on that one and am on the waiting list.

One of my projects today is finishing the process of getting my 2017 Jamboree dupes up on eBay as fixed priced listings. I’ve got boxes of these patches sitting in my office and you can’t sell them if nobody can see them.
