BSA Experts Riddle Me This
Ok a question for those who know more about advancement than me. I knew a handicapped Scout at my home camp that earned the advancement that is seen in the listing below but I remember him having the 1st Class emblem in the middle. So is this listing wrong or did the Scout change out the center patch from Scout – Tenderfoot – 2nd Class – 1st Class as they earned the segments?

I started collecting Boy Scout memorabilia when I was inducted into Santee Lodge 116, Order of the Arrow at Camp Coker in the summer of 1986. All the guys of ISWA chapter in Elk campsite seemed to be trading and since my dad sent me to camp with a small bag of patches, I jumped in and never looked back....

The center patch was changed out. So a Scout could earn both the segments and the regular Tenderfoot through First Class ranks, and the segments were worn around whichever rank badge the Scout had earned (including the Scout badge as shown).
