In our troop we use Discord at kinda a troop message board. One of the Scouts set it up and it seems to be a platform that the Scout use to just chill. But I guess I can see some of the same elements that have made the Scout Patch Collectors grow to over 17k people. Ironically I got a notice two days ago that Yahoo is permanently closing their groups which were really the first version of this online community for our hobby.
Thursday I went to my antique mall booth to get my check and clean things up. If you ever get to Charlotte be sure to plan a stop at the Sleepy Poet Antique Mall to check it out. I’ve got lots of stuff including Girl Scouts. Next week I really need to take a bunch of stuff out there and maybe give the dolls a little less prime real estate in my case.
One of the cool things in the booth is a couple hundred Boy Scout t-shirts. Many of these are from collections I’ve purchased over the years. Some are actually shirts that I wore like from conclave and summer camp. When I get tired of them I bring them to the booth to sell for $5. It’s better than taking them to Goodwill for sure!
Right now on eBay I have 276 auctions including a batch of just over 100 ending Sunday night. Many of these are conclaves, flaps and JSPs. I have been steadily adding inventory and as of this morning my eBay store is sitting at 33,667 live items. By the end of the day I’ll have a couple hundred more. Rome wasn’t built in a day.
This weekend I officially have nothing going on. It seems so peaceful to say that after having gone to Florida, hosted an open house etc in October already. Too bad almost nothing that you can take the family to is open!
