When I came across the awesome 1935 lot featured below it gave me the idea to look and see what else has been selling lately in old National Jamboree memorabilia. These are the best eBay items from the recent sales.
1935 Boy Scout National Jamboree Patch Plus Mint
1935 National Jamboree Patch
CSP Boy Scout Jamboree Shoulder Patch DAC JSP TA1 1950
1937 Nat Jamboree, Leaders Red Neckerchief
I wonder if anyone thinks that the Detroit issue sold well because the picture and listing were all done really professionally? Is there a value to dressing up eBay listings – like adding text to the picture?
Dressing up an auction drives me crazy. I use a modem connection and the auctions with all the picture frames and cute stuff take fore ever to down load. I have skipped looking at auctions which took too much time down loading. All you need is a good high resolution picture (preferably a scan) with true color of both the front and back of the patch. I see many pictures which are fuzzy or don’t show the true colors of the patch.

Adding text to the picture isn’t what’s selling it. A sharp, well-lit scan is best and looks professional. Some of the “professional dealers” use generic titles and boilerplate text for their items that aren’t helpful. I think the reason this JSP went so high is that it found two willing buyers at one time.
The 1935 NJ patch sold at what I would pay for one; in other words, a reasonable price not in the $400’s like I’ve been seeing lately. The Detroit 50 JSP went for too much in my opinion, based on its condition.
