Tuesday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter October 17, 2017

Today my big project is building storage shelves at my new 10×25 storage unit in a climate controlled warehouse. I’m going to document the process and eventually publish a short video sharing the project. I don’t know how many of you need to have that much storage space for your Scouting collectibles but it’s big project for me.

The shelving system I’ll be building is similar to this one which is in my garage. Essentially I need to be able to use all the vertical space in the storage unit so in my project today I’ll go 8′ high to make a massive wall of shelves on both sides. I might spend a small fortune on lumber but I’ll be doing all the labor myself so that should help.

When you have two different online stores with well over 15,000 items listed you have to be organized. A Scouting friend came to visit recently and was kinda amazed to see the system I use to keep all the inventory easy to pull for shipping. This is a picture in my patch cave where I have almost 150 long boxes of patches carded and labeled. Let’s just say that moving to a new house would be a monumental undertaking. Maybe his picture is another reason why my wife doesn’t like going into the patch cave.

I have over a hundred of live auctions running on eBay. The bulk of these are Jamboree shoulder patches that I have in on consignment.
