2010 National Jamboree Staff Patches Distributed

Over the weekend I started seeing reports of Jamboree staffers receiving their 2010 National Jamboree Staff patches in the mail.

A couple folks stated they were disappointed in the quality. Unfortunately mine has yet to arrive, and the scan I received was not very large. Anyone receive their patch and care to comment on the quality?

Hopefully mine comes soon. It will give me something for my $100 deposit if they don’t choose me to be on staff…

*WHY* does BSA have anything made in china????

Because it’s cheaper? As long as you wash your hands with soap after you’ve handled these patches and take care not to chew on them, you’ll be fine. From a collecting viewpoint, they’ll be more valuable after the recall.

It looks like it’s a cut edge twill border patch. That has got to be a mistake! I’m surprised that National Supply didn’t turn them back in to get proper merrow borders sewn on. Better buy this one so you’ll have the staff proto.

Then again, maybe that’s why they were so cheap from China. 😀

and with chinese suppliers selling stuff out the back door, like this one http://cgi.ebay.com/MEW-BSA-UNIFORM-TIGER-CUB-boy-WEBELOS-scouts-cap-hat-M_W0QQitemZ260309963624QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item260309963624&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2%7C65%3A1%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318 … how long before we can get an official jambo patch on ebay for $1?? any bets on before or after the jambo??

So it seems a lot of folks are annoyed with the cut edge borders. I would agree, I don’t think c/e look as nice as rolled edges.

I’m still waiting for mine, I’m starting to think my SE didn’t approve my app…

Sold for $102.50 with 5 bidders placing 8 bids.

Well if the seller’s story was true he recouped the majority of his $100 staff deposit…
