Friday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter November 17, 2017
At this TOR I am really focusing my sales on 3D items and dollar tubs. I have some decent OA pieces with me but much of what I brought was items from the recent Midwest collection I purchased that I hope will be going home. I’ll include pictures in this Sunday’s issue.
Except for NOACs I’ve never attended a TOR this far away from the Carolinas so I’m looking forward to seeing some collectors that I’ve only met online. That’s the nice thing about spending so much time on the Facebook Group I feel like I know some of these guys already.
One of the best things about a 10 hour drive up with Chris Jensen and Matt Delk is the conversation never stops. Even though Chris invested in a better radio system for the patch bus he never turned up the volume because we never stopped talking. I also go to tour his Smart Storage location for the first time and that was a real treat.
As I was packing for the TOR I went through patches trying to find ones to put in the bag. I came across some of these Vigil Totem patches from Ta Su Hwa 138 and put them up for sale on my store. It’s sorta cool when you discover a good patch that you didn’t even know you had.

I started collecting Boy Scout memorabilia when I was inducted into Santee Lodge 116, Order of the Arrow at Camp Coker in the summer of 1986. All the guys of ISWA chapter in Elk campsite seemed to be trading and since my dad sent me to camp with a small bag of patches, I jumped in and never looked back....
