Tuesday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter November 24, 2020

One good example of this evolution has been the Monday night Digital Cracker Barrel that John Pleasants and Larry Lane have organized.  The last two weeks I have sat in on this zoom call and heard presentations from other collectors.  Next week I believe the topic is the Feltcrafters.  If you are interested in participating they happen at 8 PM Est every Monday night. If you email John he will send you an invitation.

Larry Lane has taken the raw video from these zoom presentations and edited them into over 20 YouTube videos.  You can watch them all on his channel.  The topics are very broad although it started off a little more centered on North Carolina.

For my part I have tried different versions of a video series over the years.  One was Cloth Talk 2.0 with Hank Birdsong and the other was Thread Heads with Brad England.  Although there is some good stuff there that is evergreen we have not recorded anything recently.  Now that I’ve shared all these YouTube links you are empowered to spend hours digesting your big meal Thursday by scrolling these videos!

For the first time in months I’m running auctions on 2 different eBay accounts.  I got in a pretty good 1950s collection and I want to keep some of my old accounts active so I’ve launched 30 auctions so far this week from this group. Meanwhile on my Patchblanket eBay Store I’ve got 228 auctions including some 99 cent CSPs, better SAPs and OA.

I’m slowly putting together a video of my huge project to rework my OA collection of lodges that issued flaps.  Today I’ll get another piece filmed and I’m waiting for some supplies to arrive from my printing company that will be the next step.  When it’s all done of course I’ll share!
