I’m an Eagle Scout from the late 1960’s and have been collecting all the merit badge types (A through the current L types) that you discussed for about 20 years. I don’t consider myself an expert either, but from the research I’ve done, the info you presented was spot on (without going “down the rabbit holes”). I’m looking forward to seeing your dups put up on eBay for auction or direct sale to fill-in the “holes” in my collection.

Again, congrats on a job well done with the presentation!

It helped confirm what I am doing with a merit bagde collection as far a catologuing, typing, etc. I am using the 20 pocket coin holders for my badges. I don’t have any Type A Badges yet. Thanks of all the information.

I had no idea scouting hot finds was even a thing until today. I think thats super cool. I stumbled across your website. My name is Chloe. And my boyfriend has been collecting boyscout items for years now. Him and I are about to have a baby and he and I talked about selling some of it to make a little extra money. And you seem like the perfect person I’d want to sell it to that will appreciate it and do something with all the items. If you want to give me a call at anytime today that’d be awesome. I can either take pictures of everything I have or we can do a video call and ill show you so we can talk about it face to face via video chat. Up to you! Thank you. 405-640-7377

So the CSI Guide (available to members who join ISCA) has pricing guidance in the back of the book but it’s not accurate. Their website is http://www.scouttrader.org. I always suggest looking at comparable sold listings in the last 90 days on eBay to see what the true going rate is. Don’t look at what people are “asking” for things on eBay but rather what they are selling for. Just my 2 cents.

Does one exist and how do I get a copy ?

Comment on Unboxing 1935 National Jamboree Boy Scout Collection From Texas by Jeff Morley https://scoutpatchcollectors.com/03/unboxing-1935-national-jamboree-boy-scout-collection-from-texas.html/comment-page-1#comment-88216 Fri, 11 Mar 2022 19:08:03 +0000 https://scoutpatchcollectors.com/?p=13220#comment-88216 Jason, what a great score. Loved the story behind how is was stored for all these years and how it came to you. You make a great point about the value of the paperwork supplementing the patches, decals and merit badge sash. It seems to be happening more and more that collectors, almost all of whom start out collecting the patches and neckerchiefs, become increasingly curious about the documentation and “provenance” that supports the historical context of those things they collect. It happened to me too.
Keep up the great work and see you and all your patrons, customers and friends at the 2nd National Scouting Historian Summit in 2023!
Jeff Morley

Yes there is! I believe the most recent copy was 2017 or 2018. The CSI Guide is now “owned” by ISCA and is available to members digitally on their website. I don’t believe there is a printed version any longer.

I was wondering if they have some updated books. I also tried to get a hold of the Delman’s. The latest book of color pictures of csp and their history I have is the 2002 book of the 3 911 csp of NY., Penn. & National Capital council in Washington, D.C.
