here is a true big jim
thought it was a typo till i read the description.
I can since they are in my section. Another intresting fact about then is they have never produced a patch with their true totem on it. Their actual totem is “supposed ” to be a BEAVER
NOW HOWS THAT FOR AN IDENTITY CRISIS!!!

It’s pronounced just like it’s spelled. 🙂
But they’re in my state, so I’ve had practice. It’s easier than my own lodge name, Tsoiotsi Tsogalii. It’s fun to watch folks who “not from around here” get hung up on all those “ts” sounds and consecutive vowels (oio, and ii).
Well, since we’re hijacking this thread, here’s how I (from the West Coast) would pronounce these lodge names without ever hearing how they should be pronounced:
iti bapishe iti hollo: (itty bap she itty hollow – careful not to slur the 4th and 5th syllables together)
Tsoiotsi Tsogalii: (tso ee ottsee tso gall ee)
Here are some tips for a few of the lodges in my section WF2:
Ohlone 63 (oh low’ nee)
Hungteetsepoppi 466 (hung tee tsee poe’ pie)
Miwok 439 (mee’ wok)
The rest are pretty self-evident.
easy lodges to pronounce but members still screw it up!
nentico 12
nentego 20
shaun
well.. whatever that patch was, the listing has been removed…
i’d agree with how to prounce ‘itty bab’….
but let me take a stab at john’s lodge, Tsoiotsi Tsogalii
knowing that the “ts” in the Cherokee language comes out as a “ch” sound, i’d guess it to be Cho-e-o-see Cho-golly
(“Cherokee” in Cherokee is written Tsalagi, but comes out as Cha-la-ke [no ‘r’] and the tribal hero “Tsali” comes out almost as “Charley”)
Now try and pronounce it:>)
