Rare Jamboree Boy Scout Collectibles

I have checked and you won’t see a better National Jamboree item sell then the Boy Scout 1935 Jamboree National Staff Neckerchief. The neckerchief was created prior to the first National Jamboree scheduled on 1935 however the gathering was moved two years due to a polio epidemic. During the 1937 Jamboree the same neckerchief was used. This item is in full square with an orange print on a purple cloth. This is one of the very rare Boy Scout memorabilia existing as this is one of the very first items of the first US National Jamboree of 1935. It looks unused however there are some flakings on the printed logo which is just normal for such a thing like this.

A great Canadian item is the Boy Scout Badge for Gallantry with news clipping of life saving. It is not just an ordinary medal but it is a sixty-nine year old medal which stands for bravery, heroism and valor. This more than six decade award was given last December 16, 1943 to Mr. Robert Gray for saving the life of Mr. Douglas Creelman. Mr. Robert Gray was a 12-year old kid and a member of the Hardington Boy Scout Troop who risked his life to save a drowning man. He was given the medal for his exemplary performance of following the Scout Law which is “A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent”. This life saving medal along with the news clipping is a manifestation of what a true boy scout is.

Patch trading is one of a Boy Scout’s Jamboree traditions. Each Boy Scout would trade their council’s patches for other patches from different places in the United States and across the globe. This activity of collecting is a way of making friends. The Boy Scout National Jamboree patch is one of the finest examples you could possible find of the 1937 National Jamboree with 27,238 boy scouts in attendance. This memorabilia is still wrapped in transparent cellophane and measures an approximate size of 3 1/8 in diameter.
