Sunday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter June 11, 2017

Yesterday confirmed my faith in using Facebook to make deals in this hobby. Pictured here is a gold Caldwell pin that Rob Kutz posted for sale on a uniform. It looks like he had it posted for less than an hour when he sold it for big bucks. I finally spent some time on the Scout Patch Collectors FB Group yesterday and had a dozen separate sales plus another 4-5 that are in the works or I’m hearing from people this morning. It really is the 24-7 TOR that Deryl Radder talked about when he started the Yahoo Groups twenty years ago.

Monday and Tuesday I’ll be on volunteering at the Etowah District Day Camp where my son Patrick will be attending all week. One of my favorite memories from Cub Scouts was going to Day Camp and I hope he enjoys it as much as I did.

I have been keeping my ears open for a Venturing Crew that my daughter can join this time next year when she is a rising 9th grader. This week I got in touch with a leader that has a crew just about two miles from our house at a big Catholic Church. The good thing about living in a city is we have options so it looks like I’ll start taking her to visit crews in the fall trying to figure out the best fit.

Pictured below you can see the three auctions I’m running including a Silver Beaver pennant. Most of June I’ll be focused on fixed priced listings but I’m not going to ignore the 1,000 free auction listings that eBay gives me with my store subscription.
