My daughter comes off the trail at Philmont tomorrow and flies home Tuesday. Meanwhile, my son has joined us at Bartow this week for a CIT opportunity. For the first time so far this summer my wife has the house to herself and nobody to hustle off to a day camp or cook for. For my part I’m starting to have conversations with area directors about next year and figuring out who anticipates coming back and gathering program ideas.
Jamboree is just around the corner and I have a pretty good plan in place – I am going on a council contingent. When I talked to Tico Perez many months ago for my podcast he shared that this year adults could register as participants just like the kids. For me that seemed like a no brainer. In years past I had rented a place to stay and come in as a day visitor. But the opportunity to really enjoy all the Jamboree has to offer was a welcome vacation after running a council summer camp.
I have some nice auctions running on OApatch ending today. Then over on Santeeswapper I have 101 live auctions on Santeeswapper mostly focused on Scout camps.
