Sunday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter January 14, 2018
When my family moved almost two years ago I snapped this picture of the storage unit where I stockpiled my hoard of Scout stuff accumulated from a decade of buying collections. Sadly many of these boxes have still not been opened so in 2018 this stockpile will become the genesis for the hundreds of silent auctions at the Charlotte TOR.
I want to share a picture of the Saturday morning master. Nobody works a room on the final day of a show like Matthew Delk. His mantra is to be the last person to walk out. Yesterday 3/4 of the tables were broken down and he was putting hands on every patch in Jensen’s dollar box looking for gold. Durn if he didn’t find an OA sponsored camporee event from NC right while I was talking to him!
I am traveling with Matthew Delk next weekend to the Dallas TOR. This might be the first time that the full Best Hobby Pages inventory has made a trip to this iconic show. Matt and I will be set up just outside the door but you won’t be able to miss the big banner that proclaims,”Got Plastic? We Do!”

I started collecting Boy Scout memorabilia when I was inducted into Santee Lodge 116, Order of the Arrow at Camp Coker in the summer of 1986. All the guys of ISWA chapter in Elk campsite seemed to be trading and since my dad sent me to camp with a small bag of patches, I jumped in and never looked back....
