Sunday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter March 15, 2015

SHF_mar_15

I am sending out this issue of the Hot Finds on the road. We are on the way back from a camping trip and thanks to some McDonald’s wi-fi I can put the finishing touches on this and press send. Enjoy!

I’m pretty anal about my collections so luckily I already have two of the Type 2 Silver Medals. For me I would need one to fit in the Explorer collection and the other to go in my Air Explorer collection. Technically when the Air Scout award was phased out that branch of Exploring used the Silver Award as their highest award as well.

I am turning around next weekend and going to an OA Spring Fellowship. We usually spend the weekend getting ready for the Dixie Fellowship which is our conclave that comes up a month later. This year I get the extra treat of going to the North Carolina Cardinal Conclave the weekend before in April.

I am hoping that at the fellowship my lodge will release our Centennial flap. The trick with my lodge is they don’t usually sell unlimited flaps so it might not be easy for me to get more than a few to make trades. I know if they do leave it open sale I’ll be on the Facebook Group Sunday making trades.

I’ll share some pictures Tuesday of the epic capture the flag game that my girls played in a muddy field. These are some competitive Girl Scouts – we about had some fighting words when I said the winning team got an extra serving of our dutch oven cake.
