Sunday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter March 22, 2015

SHF_mar_22

I just got back my lodge’s Spring Fellowship. For a rare weekend I was able to get a 2-day pass from my wife to spend a weekend doing Boy Scouting. It might have something to do with the fact that she is going to Boston for 5 days later this week. Hmmm…

One of the neat patch related things that happened was that I was able to help a couple of long-time lodge brothers fill holes in their collection. We don’t have a whole lot of patch trading that happens at events but I sat down with each of them one-on-one to see what they needed. I’d much rather see someone else get this stuff than me hold onto dupes in a closet somewhere in my house.

On the Centennial front there was good news and bad news. The lodge leadership has not ordered any of the approved lodge items yet such as our flap and jacket patch issues. However, a vote was taken Saturday afternoon at an ECM to create a preorder form for these items and get things going. Hopefully by early summer these issues will be out.

This year the lodge has a planned Centennial set for the five lodge activities and this weekend we got the Winter Banquet patches we were due and of course the Spring Fellowship patches. This is going to be a really cool set and I’ll have a write up on CarolinaOA.com tonight with details.

I have a lot of catching up with family time today (and a church committee meeting) so I’ll sign off and wish you a happy rest of your weekend.
