Friday Scouting Hot Finds Newsletter July 12, 2024

 

 

I have mentioned that I spend way too much time scrolling social media in reseller groups and watching their YouTube videos. I am looking for ideas that I can implement in my business but mostly I see people complaining about this and that – chief among them lately….”the summer slowdown”. I am here to tell you in our hobby it’s a myth.

 

One of the reasons I never thought twice about walking away from my business for the summer to serve as a camp director is because I bought into this belief that things cooled off in the summer. After all, surely all the patch collectors were taking their troops to summer camp or going on vacation. Yeah, that’s a bunch of malarkey. On a random Thursday (yesterday) while at the beach I had a statistically great day selling random stuff. Turns out Scout patch collectors don’t ever slow down…they are always on the hunt!

 

I have finally burned through all of the pins and am selling SAPs and the old-fashioned Council Patches (think odd shapes and rounds) this weekend on eBay with 113 live auctions running.
